Please be aware the Ada County Sheriff will discontinue their LEOSA requals effective the end of this month and not restart until late next spring. In the interim the Code 3 to 1 Firearms Team will do monthly HR-218/LEOSA qualifications for those members who are facing expiration of their HR-218 permits. We will do the Ada County Requalification protocol (15 rounds) and give you a Proof of Completion certificate that you then forward to your home agency for card issuance. Unfortunately, we do not issue LEOSA ID Cards, and it will be up to your home agencies to do that given our proof of completion.

Please also note that if your department will not accept the ACSO Course of Fire, we will qualify you using the course of fire mandated by your department. If your department requires a target other than the standard B-27 you will need to bring that with you to the session along with your prescribed Course-of-Fire and sufficient ammunition to complete the course. Also note that the ACSO will no longer qualify you with your home department's course-of-fire and now only administers their own 15 round course exclusively.

Our next LEOSA requalification will be Monday, October 20, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Lower Silhouette Range at Black's Creek Public Range, 2420 E. Kuna-Morro Road, Kuna. The fee is $10 cash per shooter payable at the door.

You will need your pistol, 15 rounds of ammo (unless we are using your home department's course-of-fire), eye and ear protection, your retiree ID card proving "Honorable Retirement" as mandated by HR-218 and $10 cash. All firearms must be holstered or cased.
